I figured, aside from showing my poor attempts for my 52 Week Challenge, I should finally start doing some swatches and stuff. The first one is one of the polishes I got in my Julep Maven box this month: Eva.
Sorry for the fuzzy...and the hangnail mark.
Julep described Eva as a “raspberry creme”, and I think that pretty much nails it. It’s pinker than the image shows, almost falling in to the magenta category. I used a base coat of “Post trauma Nail Treatment” by Revlon, and a top coat of “Insta-dri” from Sally Hansen.

I HATED this mani. I hated it so much, I only took one picture of it before taking it off of my nails.
I’m sure it would look better on someone who has moons on their fingers that they COULD trace, or ones the same size. I go from no moon on my pinky to a pretty decent sized one on my thumb. Because of that, regardless of if I tried to freehand or tape it, it looked HORRIBLE. I don’t know how the women in the 40’s did it. I give them props.
I have a couple other posts almost ready, but I figured I wouldn’t spam the three people who read my blog. 😉
Happy Singles’ Awareness day!
I wasn’t sure which I wanted more when I thought about “Valentine’s Day”: pink and hearts, or chocolate. So, I decided to do…both.
Now, let's see me hold a box!
I couldn’t find my handy dandy lotion bar, so I grabbed the box my new necklace came in.

I was a bit delayed getting this week’s mani up for a couple of reasons. I volunteer to help our local high school bowling conference with keeping their statistics up, and it’s the end of the season. I have to get everything together before Friday afternoon. And, also…I had to get some nail art paint, because that was seriously lacking. I tried using my art acrylics, but yeah…that didn’t turn out well.
Plaid Friday! But on Wednesday!
My nails are lumberjacks, and they’re okay with it
While looking around on Pinterest, I stumbled upon a site called Design Seeds©, which show pre-made color pallets based on images. This helps when you have a base color…but don’t know which other colors to go around it.
I had already painted my nails with Revlon’s Grape Icy from their Scented collection:
Revlon's Grape Icy: the base
It smells awesome…but it takes FOREVER to dry. 😦
With that color in mind, I went searching for a set of colors, and found their pallet called “Glowing Bloom”. And thus….my next mani was born.
Time for flowers?
